EXAMINATION

In every student life the most tensed time period is the examination period i.e. February-march month. The importance of this month or time period for a student is so big that he or she even sacrifices all their comforts and focus their body and mind into studies only. The level of examination is different for different classes but the level of pressure is same for every student at their classes. Even I can say that for a student in every class he or she faces the same kind of pressure, tensions, nervousness etc. but when it comes to 10th and 12th class examination, the student is in extreme situation of his or her life. In every student life these two examination keeps so importance because their future academic life is depending on the marks of these two classes.


10th CLASS BOARD

Students at these level are going to be experience of examination in a totally different manner for the 1st time in their life. At these level for the 1st time every student will find so many changes in examination process such as new examination centre (i.e. new school), new teachers, new type of answer sheets, new students etc. at these level they are not so mature to handle these new examination environment that’s why they all have a high level of pressure of studies, nervousness. Students are going to experience so many new things, new faces, new building, new benches, classroom, teachers. Also, these level of examination keeps so much of importance in their life because the marks of these will decide that which stream, they will get (i.e. science, commerce, arts). To choose a best stream is also an important aspect of their academic life. Also, this is a common query of the student which stream to opt or which is better for them?? Many teachers, guiders, mentors, and experts suggest to students on the basis of their experience and knowledge. But here I can suggest to every teacher, parents, mentor to firstly understand the student’s abilities, interest, strengths, weakness, dreams, capability and then to suggest something which is suited to their profile. Here I also request to parents, teachers and seniors, not to force any student mentally, physically to opt for a stream forcefully and to guide them in right direction and in right manner by sharing full exposure, various aspects of streams.


12th CLASS BOARD

This is the last year of school life of every student, this makes this class gains so much importance than any other previous class in their life. One another reason is that the marks of this class will going to decide whether a student will get admission in a good regular college or not. From the 1st class we all had heard that marks of class12th will going to impact your whole life. Because there is cyclical chain has been created by our parents, seniors, teachers that if you don’t get good marks in 12th , you will don’t get admission into a good regular college, and if you don’t get admission into  a college, then you don’t get a good campus placements, that means you will don’t get a good job and then you will be an unsuccessful person in the eyes of the society. All this earlier reasons creates so much of pressure, nervousness, tensions in the mind of the students. Although students at these level has been already getting experience of the board environment but the level of pressure, tensions, nervousness, heart beats remain so high just because every student is in the rat race of marks which results in intense competition.


BOARD EFFECTS

1.      The level of competition in board exams created by the students in present time is so high that results in so many health issues to students, eye sight problems, depression, lack of self-confidence, tag of failure.
2.      Even some cases suicide commit by the students just because their marks are short by 2-3 marks from what they expected. Some of the students facing the problem of sleeping disorder.
3.      This education environment will force the students to focus on the quantity rather than on quality education.
4.      Present education system is degrading the value of good marks in the mind of students, parents, and others, because everyone wants ranks, or 99%, 98%, 97% or minimum 90%.
5.      This education system creates a psychology in the mind of the students that marks are the sole criteria to judge a person capability, talents.


MY SUGGESTIONS

1.      BOARD exams of subjects like maths, science, social science must be on OMR sheet basis for 100 marks.
2.      Language exams like English had to be focus more on presentation skills, drafting skills.
3.      Marks should not be the criteria in opting a stream for 11th class. Student should give freedom to choose on the basis of personal counselling.
4.      Grading system should be the criteria not the percentage.
      Combinations of some skill based courses also be implemented. e.g. Mobile Marketing, Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Web Designing, Software Coding etc..
5.      Real case studies of successful persons in different fields like business, sports, academics, technology etc. should be introduced compulsory.
6.      Personal student counselling should be initiated for every student by the experts at 10th and 12th mandatorily.
7.      Take exams just as exams, don’t take it too personally otherwise it will become your personal problem.
